Do you feel that prisoners are being treated better than homeless people? Sure, they are being locked up, but they also have a place to sleep, 3 meals a day, a job, medical care, drug rehab, therapy, internet access, schooling, hygiene care, recreation time (Weight training, basketball, TV), religious service. Sure, prison is dangerous but so is living on the street everyday. Why do taxpayers spend so much money for the convenience of the criminals while thousands of people living in the street dying of disease and starvation? In comparison, the homeless shelters mostly rely on volunteers, and they don't have as much equipments and staffs as a prison system. Should the government build an institution for homeless people similar to a prison but the homeless can come and leave as they please?
